Lately, couples often choose for an intimate elopement because this form of wedding celebration is focused on the essence of their commitment:
1. exchanging self-written vows that come from the heart
2. on a beautiful, intimate location meaningful to both of them
3. possibly in the presence of closest friends and family
The moment of exchanging vows is a wonderful experience. My camera captures the sincerity of a couple. Everybody is moved to tears. Voices break down, and vow books are held in trembling hands.
Immediately afterward I see a wave of emotions follow, with intimate embraces, champagne popping, and once I witnessed a fully clothed dip in the sea. It’s always very joyful.
Couples who choose an elopement wants to dedicate their wedding day entirely to each other. They want to make themselves beautiful, flirt romantically and have unbridled fun. What they don’t want for their wedding day is to be “lived by others”, or for it to rush by like a speeding train. In our world overflowing with choices, my couples consciously choose each other.
